Almost odourless when breathed in, it can take up to twelve hours to wreak its havoc. During WWII, a ship carrying mustard gas exploded. In the autopsies carried out on the crew-members, it was noticed that exposure to the mustard gas had caused destruction of fast growing tissue and had slowed down the reproduction of white blood cells. It was surmised that since cancer grew rapidly, these poisons could kill cancer tissue swiftly. These observations did prove right; exposure to these terrible POISON gases did kill cancerous tissue, but, as Ralph Moss states in his book Questioning Chemotherapy: “The amount of toxic chemicals needed to kill every last cancer cell was found to kill the patient long before it eliminated the tumour.” Modern chemotherapy is a derivative of the mustard gas used to POISON enemy soldiers in the World Wars. Truthfully, chemotherapy has more in common with chemical POISON warfare than any “healthy” medicine. One of the side effects of chemotherapy is cancer. The cancer doctors don’t say much about it, but it’s printed right on the chemo drug warning labels (in small print, of course). If you go into a cancer treatment clinic with one type of cancer, and you allow yourself to be injected with chemotherapy chemicals, you will often develop a second type of cancer as a result. Pharmacists are peddling these toxic chemotherapy chemicals to their customers as if they were medicine (which they aren’t). While preparing these toxic chemical prescriptions, pharmacists are exposing themselves to cancer-causing chemotherapy agents in the process. And because of that, pharmacists are giving themselves cancer... and they’re dying from it. Chemotherapy drugs are extremely toxic to the human body, and they are readily absorbed through the skin. The very idea that they are even used in modern medicine is downright disturbing and sad that hundreds of thousands of people are killed each year around the world by chemotherapy drugs. Recently the Seattle Times reported: “Danish epidemiologists used cancer-registry data from the 1940s through the late 1980s to first report a significantly increased risk of leukemia among oncology nurses and, later, physicians. Last year, another Danish study of more than 92,000 nurses found an elevated risk for breast, thyroid, nervous-system and brain cancers.” The story goes on to report how new safety rules are being put in place across the industry to protect pharmacists, veterinarians, nurses and doctors from toxic chemotherapy chemicals. If these chemotherapy chemicals are so dangerous to the healthy doctors, nurses and pharmacists dispensing them, how can they be considered “safe enough” to inject into sick patients who are already dying from cancer? Scientifically speaking, the published studies note that: “chemotherapy is only effective at treating less than two percent of the cancers that exist”. And that two percent does not include breast cancer or prostate cancer. The researchers believe that chemical exposure alters the genetic makeup of the sperm and eggs and may lead to future generations showing altered stress responses in their teen years. The study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences suggests that the animal model may provide an explanation for the mounting number of cases of anxiety disorders, autism and obesity among humans in recent years. "We are now in the third human generation since the start of the chemical revolution, since humans have been exposed to these kinds of toxins," said lead author David Crews of the University of Texas. "There is no doubt that we have been seeing real increases in mental disorders like autism and bipolar disorder," he added. "It's more than just a change in diagnostics. The question is why? Is it because we are living in a more frantic world, or because we are living in a more frantic world and are responding to that in a different way because we have been exposed? I favor the latter." For the study, researchers exposed pregnant rats to vinclozolin, a common fungicide used in fruits and vegetables and which is known to disrupt hormones and have effects across generations of animals. The amount of chemical exposure was "higher than what you would expect in the environment, but there is not a whole lot known about environmental levels of this particular compound," said co-author Michael Skinner at Washington State University. Skinner added that the purpose of the study was not to assess risk for humans to but to examine potential phenomena caused by exposure. He and colleagues tested the third generation of male rats and their reactions to a stressful situation of physical restraint during adolescence, comparing those that had elders with chemical exposure and those that did not. The rats with the family history of fungicide exposure weighed more and had higher testosterone levels than the others. They were also more anxious, more sensitive to stress, and showed greater activity in stress-related regions of the brain than descendants of unexposed rats, said the study. In a separate test for sociability, the fungicide-exposed offspring "showed less interest than other rats in new individuals and environments," added the study. Studies on female offspring are ongoing, Skinner said. "The ancestral exposure of your great grandmother alters your brain development to then respond to stress differently," said Skinner. "We did not know a stress response could be programmed by your ancestors' environmental exposures." The researchers believe that chemical exposure alters the genetic makeup of the sperm and eggs and may lead to future generations showing altered stress responses in their teen years. Vinclozolin began being used to control mold and rot in US crops in the early 1980s, but its use declined sharply after studies showed it could mimic male hormones, like testosterone, and interrupt normal sexual development. France and Greece Elections -- Anti-Austerity Weekend The message emblazoned across European newspapers Monday morning was that European voters had rejected what's known as "austerity" -- the severe spending cuts and belt-tightening reforms meant to address the European currency and debt crises. Socialist candidate Francois Hollande beat right-leaning President Nicolas Sarkozy on Francois' promises to rein in the spending cuts and impose big taxes on the wealthy and corporations. In Greece, voters also handed huge defeats Sunday to the parties that had agreed to the country's tough bailout agreements. Germany's Angela Merkel has already rejected the pledge by newly elected French leader Francois Hollande to renegotiate a European treaty to rein in public debt. Nor would she countenance deficit spending to boost the economic growth that Europe so desperately needs, pouring cold water on another of Hollande's campaign promises. Growth could come only through "structural reforms," the conservative Merkel said. (Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles!). Greece's commitment to austerity is no longer valid because voters have rejected those deals, a left-wing party leader declared Tuesday as he tried to form a new coalition government. Alexis Tsipras, head of the Radical Left Coalition that came a surprise second in Sunday's tumultuous election, called upon Greece's two main party leaders to renege on their support for the multibillion-euro international bailout that is keeping Greece afloat. "There is no way we will sneak back in again what the Greek people threw out" in the election, he said, referring to resented austerity measures that have slashed incomes since early 2010 and led to record high unemployment. The seismic shift in Europe over the weekend as voters resoundingly rejected austerity probably should not come as a huge surprise to anyone. Austerity is a failed policy -- it just does not and can not work. Cutting taxes to the wealthiest while cutting wages, investments and the social safety-net doesn't give us prosperity; it strangles our future. President Reagan knew this when he raised taxes eleven times - a basic fact that the "Republicans" of "today" totally ignore. But, you may have been caught off guard by the weekend news out of Europe if you relied only on the America's corporation controlled media. If enough Americans hear/know the truth about austerity and “trickle-down” economics, the seismic shift we saw in Europe will happen here. America’s corporate media has been fueling the myths to protect the interests of the top 1% while the rest of us are "fed" the same crap that taxing the rich will hurt the poor and we must cut and/or discard all of our social safety nets if "we the people" are to survive! The Republicans will again try to get votes for Romney's austerity cuts by appealing to the anti gay/abortion voters and all of their (Ted Nugent's) negative comments. Romney continues his "whack a mole" campaign - During an event near Cleveland yesterday, a woman asked Romney if he thought President Obama is "operating outside the structure of our Constitution," and "should be tried for treason." Romney did not respond to the treason comment, but instead criticized Obama's recent comments on the Supreme Court. One would think that the fact whenever throughout history the people are tricked/forced into paying for the excesses of the rich they revolt - "Let them eat cake" does not create jobs nor does it fill empty bellies! Foreclosures and bankruptcies do not create fiscal solvency. Stopping or impeding 99% of our youth from getting a higher education will not protect our Nation's future! Student loans are now over a Trillion Dollars and "they" want to double the interest rate in July! What about protecting our Nation? Our Nation's military has severe problems - Since the start of the Bush/Republican Iraq War in 2003, the rate of Suicide among U.S. Army soldiers has soared, according to a new study from the U.S. Army Public Health Command. The study, an analysis of data from the Army Behavioral Health Integrated Data Environment, shows a striking 80 percent increase in suicides among Army personnel between 2004 and 2008. The rise parallels increasing rates of depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions in soldiers, the study said. The high number of suicides are "unprecedented in over 30 years of U.S. Army records," according to the authors of the study, which was published Wednesday in the journal Injury Prevention. Based on the data and the timing of the increase in suicide rates, the authors calculated that about 40 percent of the Army's suicides in 2008 could be associated with the U.S. military escalation in Iraq. One of the Republican social cuts is very hard on our surviving military veterans - If the homeless veterans were properly cared for by our country, the total homeless population would fall by more than 40 percent over night. An autistic child. (Photo: Cindy Seigle / Flickr)On a recent front page of The Salt Lake Tribune, a frightening, oversized headline read, "Highest rate in the nation, 1 in 32 Utah boys has autism." Less well publicized, another national story ran the same day: "New pesticides linked to bee population collapse." If you eat food and hope to do so a few years from now, this should be equally frightening. A common denominator may underlie both stories.

A recent Stanford University study, examining 192 pairs of twins, where one twin was autistic and one was not, found that genetics account for 38 percent of the risk of autism and environmental factors account for 62 percent.(1)

Suggesting an environmental and genetic tag team are other studies showing mothers of autistic children and autistic children themselves have a high rate of a genetic deficiency in the production of glutathione, an antioxidant and the body's primary means of detoxifying heavy metals.(2) High levels of toxic metals in children
are strongly correlated with the severity of autism.(3) Low levels of glutathione, coupled with high production of another chemical, homocysteine, increase the chance of a mother having an autistic child to one in three, according to Dr. Jim Adams, director of Arizona State University's Autism/Asperger's Research Program. That autism is four times more common among boys than girls is likely related to a defect in the single male X chromosome contributing to antioxidant deficiency. There is no such thing as a genetic disease epidemic because genes don't change that quickly. So, the alarming rise in autism must be the result of increased environmental exposures that exploit these genetic defects.

During the critical first three months of gestation, a human embryo adds 250,000 brain cells per minute, reaching 200 billion by the fifth month. There is no chemical elixir that improves this biological miracle, but thousands of toxic substances can cross the placenta and impair that process, leaving brain cells stressed, inflamed, less well developed, fewer in number and with fewer anatomic connections with each other, all of which diminish brain function. The opportunity to make up for the resulting deficits later on is limited.

The list of autism's environmental suspects is long and comes from many different studies that show higher rates of autism with greater exposure to flame retardants, plasticizers like BPA, pesticides, endocrine disruptors in personal care products, heavy metals in air pollution, mercury and pharmaceuticals like anti-depressants.(4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13) (Utah's highest in the nation autism rates are matched by the highest rates of anti-depressant use and the highest mercury levels in the country in the Great Salt Lake.)

Doctors have long advised women during pregnancy to avoid any unnecessary consumption of drugs or chemicals. But as participants in modern society, we are all now exposed to over 83,000 chemicals from the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe and the consumer products we use. Pregnant women and their children are experiencing 100 times more chemical exposures today than people living 50 years ago. The average newborn has over 287 different chemicals and heavy metals contaminating its blood when it takes its first breath.(14, 15) One hundred and fifty-eight of them are known to be toxic to the brain. Little wonder that rates of autism, attention deficit and behavioral disorders are all on the rise.

How does this relate to disappearing bees and your ability to put food on your table? Three new studies show that the rapid rise in the use of insecticides are likely responsible for the mass disappearance of bee populations.(16, 17, 18) The world's entire food chain hangs in the balance because 90 percent of native plants require pollinators to survive.

The nervous system of insects is the intended target of these insecticides. They disrupt the bees homing behavior and their ability to return to the hive, kind of like "bee autism." But insects are different than humans, right? Human and insect nerve cells share the same basic biologic infrastructure. Chemicals that interrupt electrical impulses in insect nerves will do the same to humans.

But humans are much bigger than insects and the doses to humans are miniscule, right? During critical first trimester development, a human is no bigger than an insect, so there is every reason to believe that pesticides could wreak havoc with the developing brain of a human embryo. But human embryos aren't out in corn fields being sprayed with insecticides and herbicides, are they? A recent study showed that every human tested had the world's most popular pesticide, Roundup, detectable in their urine at concentrations between five and twenty times the level considered safe for drinking water.

The autism epidemic and the disappearance of bees are just two of many self-imposed disasters from allowing our world, including Utah, to be overwhelmed by environmental toxins. Environmental protection- including the smallest and most vulnerable among us - is human protection.

Before you read to the end, does anybody know what the main ingredient of WD-40 is? Don't lie and don't cheat. WD-40.
Who knew; I had a neighbor who bought a new pickup. I got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all around the sides of this beige truck (for some unknown reason). I went over, woke him up, and told him the bad news. He was very upset and was trying to figure out what to do.... probably nothing until Monday morning, since nothing was open.
Another neighbor came out and told him to get his WD-40 and clean it off. It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and did not harm his paint job that was on the truck. I'm impressed! WD-40 who knew? 'Water Displacement #40'.
The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound.. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The Convair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.
Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you... When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle! Then try it on your stove top ... Viola! It's now shinier than it's ever been. You'll be amazed.

WD-40 uses:

1. Protects silver from tarnishing.
2. Removes road tar and grime from cars.
3. Cleans and lubricates guitar strings.
4. Gives floors that 'just-waxed' sheen without making them slippery.
